SBS1 - Les Danceurs Fous
« On July 14, 1518, in the streets of Strasbourg, a young woman began dancing for no reason, without music, without stopping for six days... Following her lead, hundreds of people also began dancing. Was it an epidemic? Mass hysteria? The documentary 'Les danseurs fous' (directed by Benoit Finck, produced by Point du Jour/France Télévision) places this story in its historical context and reviews all the popular, scientific, and psychological hypotheses that could explain this mysterious phenomenon. 500 years later, in the same place, Snowdrops provides the musical accompaniment to this investigation through the ages, creating a new trance with the help of an original set of instruments. In this excerpt “Cloister Dance", the duo explores a frenetic liberation combining harpsichord and ondes Martenot, which could be described as post-baroque, or even medieval punk. »

SBS2 - For Rin Bells
In April 2018, while visiting the Musikmesse trade show in Frankfurt, we had the pleasure of discovering the masterful craftsmanship of Tadahiro Negishi and his team, the RIN Bells — small traditional Japanese bells and their keyboard-controlled version. A few months before Tadahiro designed a custom instrument for our neighbors 'Les Percussions de Strasbourg', he kindly lent us one of his prototypes, which we then used to create a piece at Silent Green in Berlin. These recordings are part of our experiments with these very unique bells.

« Chers tous,
SNOWDROPS SUBSCRIPTION SERIES
Exclusive tracks on Bandcamp
« Hi everyone,
Since we started Snowdrops, we have accumulated a large amount of music that we do not plan to release as albums. Among all the pieces that have been composed, collected, or rearranged, there are some that have been gathering dust on our music shelves for the past ten years or so, but which nevertheless have a certain value in our eyes. songs created for films, theater, or dance, concert improvisations, experiments, or unreleased tracks that didn't find their place on any particular album. We thought that this subscription service could be an excellent way to present some of this material in a semi-informal and intimate way. We would share a track, a mini-album, or an EP every two months, or even more frequently depending on the lunar calendar. Your support here will give us a valuable boost to continue sharing new ideas with you. It should be noted that this subscription will not include certain upcoming or past albums that are on other labels and linked to their pages. But in some cases it will—it will be on a case-by-case basis... So it's best to think of this subscription service as a way to get exclusive, unreleased content... »
